One more to go, then it’s back to Celtic duties.

I have said it before and I will say it again, international qualifiers, simply, are a hindrance to this website.

The momentum and the frequency of the news on Celtic is a killer when Scotland are involved, and thankfully after Wednesday, that’ll be that for the season.

Unfortunately, Celtic players involved with the national team last night continued their underwhelming form when, ideally, they should have been rested but it’s fairly normal to play over fifty games a season for most players nowadays and not just Callum McGregor so I should probably ‘get with it’.

McGregor himself put in quite a turgid display, as did on loan defender Jack Hendry, whose mouthing off about his form in Belgium being exemplary has been one of the greatest PR spins of all time.

Personally, I’d love nothing more than to see every Celtic player withdrawn from the squad today to concentrate solely on the run in for their club, but this is a world where I don’t get what I want, and that’s a shame for everyone.

Let’s just get this Faroe Islands game over and done with so we can all talk about Celtic obsessively til the middle of May.
