People worked up over upcoming Celtic v Rangers game

Can you believe it’s almost a year since COVID shut down Scottish football and we couldn’t give Rangers a hiding at Ibrox ?

Since that decision was made, we were awarded a title via Zoom (thank you Hampden), released brilliant Adidas gear that will forever be tainted, caused a national outrage in August, proceeded to have one of the worst seasons in our history, sparking yet another national outrage in the process, before meekly surrending our title last Sunday.

The scenes that followed that particular result at Tannadice were idiotic and nightmarish, but I won’t bow to the hyperbole and agree with the calls to scrap the fixture in ten days, even if I’d love that to happen privately because I fear an absolute shoeing from our rivals.

Robert ‘Rab’ Douglas says here he would be ‘staggered’ if the game goes ahead.

I don’t know if I agree with the big man on this one and reckon it will be played as scheduled.

Games have went ahead at Celtic Park when there were rumours that large groups of fans would turn up to voice their dismay at the club, and there was a police presence to counter that (unlike in George Square eh folks!), and Celtic themselves even fenced off the surrounding areas of the stadium.

I’m sure that on Sunday March 21st, we will do the same thing, or deploy 100 ED-209’s around the stadium to combat any ‘enthusiastic’ Rangers fans who make their way to Celtic Park.
