Celtic, shock horror, go out with a whimper

Usually after a defeat to Rangers there’s a major inquest from the podcasters and a cathartic rant on show from many a Celtic fan as a self help guide to getting over what is a deeply depressing experience.

There’s none of that today, although the Super League news has buried a lot of yesterday’s annoyance at our dismal performance and result at Ibrox.

However, taking our eyes away from the smokescreen farce that the European elite are in the process of creating, Celtic are in a hell of a mess.

We found ourselves 1-0 down at Ibrox after ten minutes, and lost all control of the game as a result, resorting to chasing the game at a venue where Rangers have not lost domestically all season. That was always going to go well.

We stressed the importance of Celtic starting on the front foot, and taking the game to Rangers, especially for this one off game, and we allowed ourselves to switch off and crumble.

Despite a brief rally in the first half, and despite spurning numerous chances in the second half, we once again shot ourselves in the foot and will now finish the season trophyless for the first time since 2009-2010.

GIGPOD will have a SHOOT POD up later tonight, where no punches will be pulled and Celtic shall face the bodying they will rightly receive, on the day when Dominic ‘Miracle Worker’ McKay formally starts too.
