Patryk ‘Paddy’ Klimala looks to have kicked his last ball for Celtic, as he is on the verge of joining MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.

Subject to visa paperwork and a medical, the Pole will leave on a deal which is believed to be highly satisfactory in a financial sense to Celtic, who will recoup most of the fee paid for him in 2020 and beneficial for the player himself.

Record Sport broke the news last night, but this has been coming for a while and was mentioned on GIGPOD at the weekend also.

The 22-year-old scored just three goals in 28 appearances after making the move to Parkhead.

With changes at the club coming in the summer including the likely arrival of a new manager, Klimala now has the opportunity to kickstart his career in the United States.

A clean slate is needed for the striker, who hasn’t had the fairest of cracks at the club if truth be told, but there may very well be more going on behind the scenes, and in training, that we’re not privy to.

Meanwhile, our latest podcast is with PDC Darts legend, Celtic fan and all round great guy ‘BIG’ John Henderson! Tune in below to hear about how he became a supporter of the club.
