A big month ahead for the Hoops

THE BIG STORY: Celtic begin a run of 7 games in 22 days tonight away to Hamilton Accies, you can read our match preview here. It’s important that Celtic get our hectic schedule up and running with a win and there is a good chance that both Odsonne Edouard and Patrick Roberts will feature tonight, but it still seems far too early for Dedryck Boyata and Moussa Dembele, who are back in first team training.

OTHER NEWS: According to ESPN FC, both Tottenham and Everton are ‘tracking’ Celtic’s young right-back Anthony Ralston. The transfer window has just SLAMMED SHUT and there’s new transfer rumours already!? Typical. Talking of transfers, Liam Henderson’s move to Hibs fell through as John McGinn didn’t leave them. Henderson will probably get game time for Celtic this month, but that won’t be enough for a player wanting first team football.

ON THIS DAY: In 1990, Celtic recorded our first league win of the season, defeating Hibs 2-0 at Celtic Park, thanks to two great goals from Joe Miller and ‘Jacki’ Dziekanowski. Match highlights are below.

In 2001, a brace from Lubo Moravcik and a Chris Sutton goal gave Celtic a 3-1 win over Dunfermline at Celtic Park. The goals are below.
