THE BIG STORY: So transfer deadline day wasn’t as CHAOTIC as many of us thought it would be, it was a case of ‘one in, one out’ at Celtic, as Odsonne Edouard signed from PSG on loan until the end of the season, whilst Aidan Nesbitt left Celtic to join MK Dons, we wish him well in the future.

We’ll have an article on Celtic’s transfer window up on the site later today, but an intriguing revelation that come out last night was that Celtic and Manchester City had ‘agreed’ that Celtic would sign Patrick Roberts on a permanent deal for £8 million, but Pep Guardiola decided at the last minute that the transfer would be a loan deal only. It will be interesting to see if Celtic attempt to sign Roberts yet again this time next year.

OTHER NEWS: Some Celts were on international duty yesterday, Tom Rogic played for Australia in their 2-0 loss to Japan, Mikael Lustig played - and scored - for Sweden in their 3-2 loss to Bulgaria and Jozo Simunovic was an used sub for Bosnia-Herzegovina in their 3-2 defeat to Cyprus. More Celts will be in action tonight, for Gordon Strachan’s Scotland against Lithuania, and good luck (and no injuries) to them.

ON THIS DAY: Happy birthday to our old mate Tony Cascarino, born today in 1962. Let’s be kind and say that Tone didn’t have the best of times at Celtic, although he did score the goal below at Ibrox to secure a point back in the day when those were as rare as hen’s teeth.
