THE BIG STORY: First placed Celtic take on second placed St Johnstone at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership game of the day. You can read our match preview here, and the game could well be a test of Celtic’s fringe players, up against the in-form Perth side, but the likes of Miller and Ralston excelled against Kilmarnock last week and I’d be confident that they would do well today if involved.

OTHER NEWS: We heard from Brendan Rodgers on a variety of topics yesterday, the main takeaway being that talks to bring Patrick Roberts back to the club remain ‘ongoing’, but it seems that the player will eventually return to Celtic in the next week. Hooray!

ON THIS DAY: In 2006, Celtic came from a goal down to defeat Hibs 2-1 at Celtic Park. Scott Brown (who he? - ed.) put Hibs into the lead before Maciej Zurawski scored the equaliser, then big JVoH rifled home the winning goal on his Celtic debut.
