THE BIG STORY: Things still seem to be slightly uneasy at Celtic Park, as we deal with the aftermath of Wednesday night’s 0-0 draw with Rosenborg. Interestingly, Rosenborg’s Matthias Vilhjalmsson was surprised at the ‘lack of atmosphere’ at Celtic Park, which of course could be down to the absence of the Green Brigade...and also because we played crap on Wednesday night.
Adding to this, on loan Celt Ryan Christie scored again for Aberdeen in their 2-1 win over Apollon Limassol last night. Christie, who has started the season in great form, looks to be a player that we could do with having back in our squad. Wonder when we can recall him?
OTHER NEWS: With Celtic currently having a striker injury crisis, we looked at the possibility of Motherwell’s Louis Moult signing for us, and you can read it here. Talking of the injury problems, apparently Leigh Griffiths is set to be fit for next week’s trip to Trondheim, which would certainly be a boost.
ON THIS DAY: In 2001 Celtic unfurled the league flag and opened our league campaign with a 3-0 win over St Johnstone, thanks to goals from Johan Mjallby and a brace from Paul Lambert. You can see an interview with Lambert and analysis of the goals below.
