Celtic celebrate winning the Scottish Cup on this day in 1988

THE BIG NEWS: Celtic are incredibly close to completing an unbeaten domestic league season, and in the course of the next seven days we will find out if this momentous feat will be achieved, as Celtic travel to Firhill to face Partick Thistle on Thursday night then get the league trophy at home against Hearts a week today. We'll have much more on these games in the week ahead.

SITE NEWS: @GIGPOD have released their latest podcast with actor/Celtic fan Tony Roper, give it a listen here.

OTHER NEWS: Yesterday Celtic were again linked with Sunderland's Paolo Borini, we wrote about the proposed £6 million transfer here, and today there are more transfer rumours, as we've been linked with Liverpool's Lucas Levia, who is free to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, and a loan signing of Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda, who was recently on loan at Real Betis.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that in the future he would one day like to manage an international team.

ON THIS DAY: In 1988, Celtic recorded one of our greatest ever Scottish Cup Final victories, coming from a goal down to defeat Dundee United 2-1. After Kevin Gallagher had given United an early second half lead, Frank McAvennie headed home the equaliser with fifteen minutes to go and then rifled home the winner in the last minute. The archetypal Celtic cup final victory.
