THE BIG STORY: Celtic under 17s won the City of Glasgow Cup for the fourth year running with a 2-1 victory over their Rangers counterparts at Firhill. The star man was Jack Aitchison, who scored the winning goal with a marvellous solo effort. We wrote about Aitchison last month and you can read it here. Euan Henderson, who scored Celtic's opening goal also turned in a standout performance, and it wouldn't surprise me if both players are permanent members of the first team squad sooner rather than later, which Celtic coach Michael O'Halloran agrees with.

SITE NEWS: The 'semi success' series looked at 2001 yesterday, and later today it concludes with a legendary victory in 1988. We'll have our semi-final preview EXTRAVAGANZA on the site tomorrow.

OTHER NEWS: Two days to go until the Scottish Cup semi-final, and Moussa Dembele says that there won't be any problems at all with motivation for the players.

ON THIS DAY: In 2013, Celtic clinched two in a row with a 4-1 win over Inverness at Celtic Park. After a goalless first half, the game came to life in the second half with a brace for Gary Hooper, and goals from Joe Ledley and a fine solo effort by Georgios Samaras. Neil Lennon wasn't allowed on the pitch to celebrate until fifteen minutes after the final whistle as he was serving a touchline ban.
