THE BIG STORY: The daily round-up is back!! That’s the big story this morning. Oh, and Celtic can set a new unbeaten domestic record of 63 games if we avoid defeat against St Johnstone at McDairmid Park this lunchtime. You can read our match preview here, and we’ll have Twitter updates on the game and the usual match report and player ratings on the site sometime after the final whistle.
OTHER NEWS: Callum McGregor has paid tribute to Kieran Tierney by calling him a ‘footballing freak’, who hasn’t had a bad game for Celtic yet.
Scott Brown has said that he almost ‘quit football’ whilst struggling with injury towards the end of Ronny Deila’s time in charge as Celtic manager.
ON THIS DAY: In 2006, a bizarre last minute own goal by then Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon handed Celtic a 2-1 win at Celtic Park. Gordon tried to catch a spinning ball which deviated after a shot by Stephen McManus but ended up dropping it over the goal line. A Jiri Jarosik header provided the equaliser for the Hoops.
In 1995, a Simon Donnelly header and a fine solo goal by John Collins gave Celtic a 2-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park.
