SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP: ST JOHNSTONE V CELTIC; SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH 12:30PM
After the thrills of Tuesday night against Bayern Munich it’s back to league duty as Celtic attempt to become record breakers tomorrow lunchtime at McDairmid Park.
Team Selection: I would imagine that Brendan Rodgers will pick a strong side for tomorrow’s game, even though some players will obviously be fatigued after the Bayern game.
With Celtic only one point ahead of Aberdeen at the top of the league, it’s a bit of a must win game as Brendan Rodgers won’t want the Hoops to be in second place going into the international break.
Therefore maybe there’ll be at most three or four changes to the side from from the team that played Bayern, the likes of de Vries, Hayes, Ntcham and Griffiths could well come into consideration for a start.
Previous Meetings: The sides drew 1-1 at Celtic Park back in August, Steven MacLean putting the Perth side into the lead before Callum McGregor popped up with a late equaliser.
Prediction: Celtic know what’s at stake tomorrow. If we avoid defeat we will set a new domestic record of 63 games unbeaten, ending a record that’s stood for 100 years. That alone should be enough for Celtic to have enough motivation to win.
