THE BIG STORY: Dedryck Boyata has spoke of his shock at assistant referee Frank Connor’s apology to him in the Celtic dressing room after awarding a ‘conscientious’ penalty decision against him in Saturday’s game against Hibs.

The big defender is also confident that Celtic can handle the physical battle that will take place against Motherwell in next month’s Betfred Cup Final and has admitted that he’s feeling ‘tired’ ahead of tonight’s trip to Pittodrie, but is sure that adrenaline will get the players through the game.

OTHER NEWS: Celtic play Aberdeen in a very big game tonight, knowing that a win will take us three points clear at the top of the league. You can read our preview of the top of the table clash against Aberdeen here, and we’ll have updates on our Twitter account and a match report up after the game.

ON THIS DAY: In 2003 a Henrik Larsson hat trick was the highlight of a 4-0 win over Aberdeen at Celtic Park, a Chris Sutton penalty completed the scoring.

In 1997 a Henrik Larsson goal and a Simon Donnelly penalty took Celtic to the top of the league following a 2-0 victory over St Johnstone at Celtic Park.
