SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP: ABERDEEN V CELTIC; WEDNESDAY 25TH OCTOBER 7:45PM
It’s a good old fashioned top of the table clash as Celtic take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
Team Selection: As far as we know Celtic have no new injury issues after Saturday’s win over Hibs and it seems that former sheep Jonny Hayes is the only player that is back from injury.
Presumably this means that Nir Bitton will be starting at the back again. Two players who should be first picks for this game are Tom Rogic - who has a great record against Aberdeen - and Moussa Dembele, who showed that he was back to his best with that brace against Hibs. Scott Brown will no doubt be a key man, and this is the type of game that he revels in.
Previous Meetings: Our first visit to Pittodrie last season ended in a 1-0 win with Tom Rogic getting the only goal, but in all honesty we were the far better team and should have won by a far bigger margin.
The second visit was a bizarre game which Celtic won 3-1, with all three of our goals - from Boyata, Armstrong and Griffiths - coming in the first eleven minutes of the game. Jonny Hayes scored Aberdeen’s goal with a belter of a shot.
Prediction: This will be a very difficult game. Both teams have almost identical records - only separated by goal difference - and Aberdeen have been resting, and are at home...which means it’s the sort of game that Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic revel in, and I think we’ll edge the game by the odd goal.
