The Daily Record are reporting Celtic are interested in, Fitba Manager patter inbound, WONDERKID Rodrigo Riquelme of Atletico Madrid.

The winger is out of contract in 2021 and Atletico want to extend his deal.

But Riquelme is eyeing more first team action and Celtic are one of two clubs who have spoken to Atletico about him.

Mundo Deportivo say the youngster also has Real Betis chasing him with Celtic hoping to persuade him to move to Glasgow.

The 20-year-old was hugely impressive for Atletico’s UEFA Youth League team when they beat Rangers last season.

The Spaniards are detemined to keep him and are willing to let the star leave on loan this season, providing he signs his new deal at the club.

It’s unclear whether Celtic would be interested in a loan deal should he commit his long term future to the Spanish giants.

Riquelme has just made two first team appearances for the club, including once in the La Liga when they took on Eibar back in September 2019.

We actually do need a winger, so I’m glad we’re looking to strengthen there at least.

Elsewhere, Albian Ajeti is mulling his loan move to us, there’s mumblings we’ve submitted a £5.5m bid for the big lad Andersson at Union Berlin and this is a good laugh....

The Daily Record, again, are saying Peterborough have fired a ‘warning’ at us for ‘taking the mickey’ regarding Ivan Toney.

Except in the article there’s no (tabloid patter incoming again) BLAST at Celtic at all.

Thanks for that!

The transfer season will be a long and exhausting one, all the way to October. Great.
