So there we are after another weekend.
THIRTEEN points clear, going into the ‘business end’ of the season.
Last season, you’d be forgiven for thinking there was a challenge again going to Ibrox, after losing two out of two there, and we all thought Gerrard’s ‘brave boys’ would put up some sort of fight to take the title race down to the split at least.
Alas, they’ve capitulated again, ensuring we go to their bit on Sunday with more than enough breathing space and with the league pretty much wrapped up.
Of course, Neil Lennon will say it’s still a huge game and a must win, as per, but we can probably afford to patronise them for a laugh at the weekend. The last time we did there, we brought on Jonny Hayes, and he scored!
The reality is, for yet another season, Rangers are finished. Out of the league race, parped out of the Scottish Cup and gave themselves the victim act in the Betfred Cup final in December too.
They’ll put everything into Thursday night’s game with Leverkusen too, while we can relax and put our feet up, no doubt ensuring we can indeed play a couple of fringe players on Sunday, but it’ll be the strongest possible team available to Lenny Bhoy.
Hamilton have went there and won recently, so that’s their ‘amazing’ home record shattered and their heads are well and truly down, plus Thursday won’t do anything but hinder them, so I’m sure we’ll capitalise on that and go in hard on them like we did when they had the jobber managers of yore.
More on the way this week.
