Groundhog day sees Celtic face Cluj again - Europa League draw

“Phil? Phil Connors? Phil Connors, I thought that was you!...Now, don’t you tell me you don’t remember me because I sure as heckfire remember you.”

Well, some people who read this may not remember Phillip ‘Phil’ Connors, but they will sure as heckfire remember Cluj, who only dumped us out of the Champions League two weeks ago, and just like Rosenborg last season, face us in the Europa League group stage once more.

It’s boring, but at the same time, it’s compellingly good patter, so let’s get on with it.

Other teams we’ll need to face in the group are Lazio and Rennes, who are by no means mugs, but we’re more than capable of qualifying from this group. Last seasons was actually tougher with the Red Bull teams, and with some decent performances and heavy luck, we progressed.

User Moravcik67 on Twitter has posted when the games will take place here.

There’s a decent thread there as well regarding our opponents.

We have until Monday to name our squad to UEFA for the games, here’s hoping we can get a few more players in and enhance the depth of that team, because those games will come thick and fast after the October/November international break, and we can’t afford any more player burnout, even though we’re obsessed with that.

Rangers preview will be up before the game, and I’ll probably be on The Terrace reviewing it!
