Celtic have agreed a loan deal to bring goalkeeper Fraser Forster back to the club five years after selling him to Southampton for £10m subject to passing a medical.
Despite not being a left back, Neil Lennon has swooped for the big man, clearly not being convinced by Scott Bain or Craig Gordon as an effective number one.
I have to say, it’s news I never expected to hear this morning, but he was a fantastic player for us, although question marks are out over his current form, declining so rapidly he is now the third choice goalkeeper at Southampton.
Whatever the case, I’m sure the majority of fans are thrilled with him re-signing and will welcome him with open arms. Let’s hope he can rediscover his heroics with us that saw him called up for England in the first place.
Speaking of returns, there are genuine shouts that Gary Hooper, Joe Ledley and even Adam Matthews are possibly heading back to Glasgow as well, with Hooper even retweeting calls for his comeback to Celtic.
At this rate, we’re sure Emilio Izaguirre is already at Glasgow Airport.
