In a season that is becoming more like the wrestling by the week, Celtic responded in a shoot like manner to the SFA over the charges against Scott Brown that have been announced today.

The Celtic captain was cited by the TOP BEAKS today. Details of his ‘charge’ are below:

Wednesday 3 April 2019

Disciplinary Rule allegedly breached: Disciplinary Rule 77 - A recognised football body, club, official, Team Official, other member of Team Staff, player, match official or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall, at all times, act in the best interests of Association Football. Furthermore such person or body shall not act in any manner which is improper or use any one, or a combination of, violent Conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.

Principal hearing date: Thursday 2 May 2019

Response date: Wednesday 10 April 2019

Now, what is likely to happen ? Nothing. It will be thrown out and even if Scott Brown did a ‘get it up ye’ gesture to the Rangers support, who cares ? We need to see more of it in football.

Increase the bile, pump up the hate, bring on the snide.

It’s what makes this derby, and Scottish Fitba, the best in the biz.

There’s a lot of people getting very emotional about this on social media today, instead of screwing the nut and realising not a lot will happen and it won’t affect them on a personal level. It’s posturing more than anything, and the SFA are going all out to flex muscles they just do not have.

Please take a deep breath and find the humour in it, like I have. It’s funny because it’s so absurd, and the return fixture at Ibrox shortly should be fantastic for patter, especially when we win.
