Well, here we are. A week after a 2-0 defeat at home, and infighting among fans online after the performance and result, it wouldn’t be Celtic in Europe without thinking we can somehow do this.
I’ve seen it many times before, from Juventus in 2013 after a 3-0 home tanking, to going to the Nou Camp in 2008 expecting to keep a clean sheet and sneak a 1-0 win after a 3-2 reverse at Celtic Park.
It’s the Celtic way.
You never know about tonight. Valencia could have an off night. We could have the game of our lives. It’s highly unlikely, but it can happen.
That said, even if we do score first, I don’t think I trust the defence to screw the nut in the Mestella tonight.
There will be a balanced review up tomorrow after the game, honestly, I won’t be harsh. I’m aware that a lot of people take the huff and disagree with these articles, and that’s fine, but what’s the moaning going to achieve ? Readers unsubscribing from us and SB Nation, yeah good one.
Hopefully we put in a decent performance, salvage a bit of pride in Europe, get the treble won and THEN prepare for the Champions League as early as possible in the summer because God knows our rebuilding job is going to be a monumental task.
