Benkovic out for the season for Celtic?

A sore one for Benky Bhoy

Reports are circulating that Filip Benkovic could be out for the season, after picking up an injury at the weekend after another routine win over Hamilton at Celtic Park.

Brendan Rodgers is expected to confirm on-loan Benkovic’s injury ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash against St Johnstone tomorrow.

The Celtic boss also look at bringing in cover before the transfer deadline, with Benkovic set to decide if he returns to Leicester for treatment.

It’s a new headache for the manager, who was probably happy with the current state of the squad up until this news.

To be without a player of Bekovic’s quality ahead of the Valencia games would be a massive blow, and with only a couple of days left until the transfer window SLAMS SHUT, any business we do will need to be quick and decisive at a time of the month where the only winners are those who profit from clubs panic buying.

If we are going to do anything, I would imagine it’ll be yet another loan deal if the worst comes to the worst with the big man.

St Johnstone preview up on the site tomorrow.
