Callum McGregor has urged the good men at the SFA not to switch the key games in the fitba calendar to Murrayfield and persevere with the much maligned Hampden Park, as he says here (That’s a Scottish Sun link if you really are that way inclined not to go to a link)
Asked about the talks of switching venues from Glasgow to Edinburgh, the midfielder said :
“Keep it at Hampden, definitely.
“The national stadium has always been Hampden since I was young. The Scotland games and the Cup finals have always been here since I was a little boy.
“It’s always been the iconic place to go and play and also for the big days out for the fans.
“I am being biased because I have now scored a few goals at Hampden as well.
“But I just want it to be kept here.”
Frankly, I agree with him. Saturday was a great day at Hampden, and the SFA got it right on this occasion. It was a showpiece event, and a grand spectacle and seeing the iconic images and footage from Saturday would have felt out of place if it was anywhere else but the home of Scottish Fitba.
What do YOU think ? Would you still keep the games at Hampden?
