The papers and the media, who we are told never to trust or believe, all seem to be spot on with their reports that Kieran Tierney is being scouted by one of the true big dogs of European football - Atletico Madrid, who play tonight in the Europa League final.
The BBC are saying so as are The Scotsman.
Tierney’s IRL pals on Twitter will likely know more than the media in a few days so we’ll bother them and find out some ITK information. Or not.
He’s our best defender by miles, and he loves the club, but he’d be bonkers not to move on, when you consider his potential and he must be looking at how Andy Robertson’s career has went from strength to strength since leaving Scotland and thinking ‘Geez some of that’.
With Filipe Luís approaching 33, and Diego Simeone clearly on the lookout for fresh blood to strengthen his team, who else but Kieran Tierney would be a focal point of an energetic and aggressive style of play trademarked by Los Colchoneros.
That said, Simeone could very well leave the Madrid side this summer with Arsenal heavily interested in him filling their vacant managerial role, so this could all be a waste of everyone’s time!
