The week of derby build up begins on the site with the recent news that we have drawn Rangers in the semi final of the Scottish Cup, what a biz !
It is the third year in a row that both sides will face each other at this stage of the competition at Hampden, with Rangers winning on penalties in 2016 and Celtic’s laughably easy 2-0 win avenging that last year en route to the treble.
For some reason, I think the semi final will be the toughest game for us, more than the game this Sunday against them.
For a start, Declan John and Jamie Murphy are doubts for the 11th March CLASH, meaning we’ll run riot against Andy ‘Marble Staircase’ Halliday and whoever they have at left midfield is unlikely to cause us as many problems as Jamie Murphy would.
Also, I think we’ll be suitably prepared for this game and we should kill Rangers faint title dreams off, with the six point gap likely to increase to nine after the game. Moussa Dembele’s in decent form ahead of the derby, and the defence kept another clean sheet, which was vital to their confidence after their shocker of a performance in Saint Petersburg.
The match at Hampden will be tougher in my opinion, but I will go into that nearer the time.
We’ll focus on Sunday’s game on the site and go on about recent matches at Ibrox, which has became a place we just need to turn up for the three points nowadays.
