How our players fared on international duty

Slow news.................goes on!

It’s day five of the hellish international break and let’s just cut to the chase and report how our players got on playing for their countries.

The positives first - Moussa Dembele scored a tremendous freekick for France U21’s against Kazakhstan. What a sublime finish this was, and maybe we’ll see him taking set pieces for Celtic in the next few weeks after this!

Olivier N’tcham also came on in the second half of the game.

Staying on the young team vibe, Jack ‘Triple’ Aitchison scored two goals in Scotland U19’s terrific 3-0 win over the Netherlands on Friday night too. Good news for Celtic, and hopefully he gets a run out for us when we seal the title in the coming weeks.

Kristoffer Ajer made his Norway debut on Friday against Australia ft. Tom Rogic and the big defender’s side turned the Home and Away XI over 4-1.

Sadly we need to talk about the dismal performance by Scotland on Friday as well. The glorious new regime...........is set to be just as terrible as the last one, with Cristian Gamboa’s Costa Rica running out 1-0 winners at the world’s worst excuse for a national stadium.

Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor were introduced in the second half, and they added a bit of much needed fluency to Scotland’s play at least, and they should certainly be starting against Hungary tomorrow, which you’ll be able to watch on BBC2 Scotland.

And finally.............

Have a read about how Liam Henderson has been getting on in Italy here.
