Platesmasher on his way to Glasgow?

Racial, and that’s...

According to rumours, Fitba Manager legend Kyriakos Papadopoulos is a target for Celtic, and I for one would love this to be true.

Brendan Rodgers wanted to sign the Greek defender when he was managing Liverpool, but concerns with his knee ensured the Reds went out and signed (What Would) Mamadou Sakho (Sakho) instead.

Papadopoulos has never been blessed with height for a central defender, but his ruthless and bulldozing style of defending is something I’d welcome at Celtic Park, and he would bring a much needed aggression to that defence at European level, which is still a concern, despite the ‘heroic’ win on Sunday, and even then that highlighted our cause to strengthen that area.

With Hamburg struggling in the Bundesliga and only a point off relegation, it’s no surprise he’s considering his options, but at the age of 26, and still an established international, you’d have to think Celtic will face serious competition to tempt him to the east end of Glasgow despite Halloumi being a decent restaurant.
