Celtic take on Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup tomorrow and despite putting in one of the worst performances under Brendan Rodgers’ tenure against Kilmarnock last week, you would like to assume our habit of bodying The Jags will continue come 12.15 tomorrow.
The match is live on BBC One Scotland, for those not going to the game by the way.
There will be many SELECTION HEADACHES for Rodgers all over the park tomorrow I suspect.
Will Scott Bain get the nod over De Vries ? A rare start for Gamboa ? Callum McGregor surely will return again ? And will the manager go back to two up front like against Hearts in the recent 3-1 win, or drop Dembele after his howling performance at Rugby Park ?
Also, what about Scott Brown ? Will his ongoing SPAT with Craig Levein rule him out mentally ? Will he be too fragile to feature ? Not for me to say, but I doubt it. Although I would respect the patter if Brown ruled himself out in any case and blamed Levein.
The Maryhill side’s record against us at Celtic Park since their return to the top flight has been pretty dismal, with seven defeats in eight visits, with a 1-1 draw last season stopping the streak.
I strongly suspect Celtic will raise their game at home and put the game to bed early on, with one foot already in the quarter finals by half time.
