“James Forrest not consistent enough to play in the EPL” - Kris Commons

I normally see these articles designed to noise up fans, rack up the hits for online tabloids and essentially ‘get a reaction’ which is the end goal.

A lot of people blow up in anger at them, achieve their numbers and feel they’ve proved a point by letting off steam at someone who was aiming for that in the first place.

While I’m not bursting any blood vessels or copying in big prominent Celtic accounts to a tweet in order to show how much an opinion has irked me, what I would say to Kris Commons is simply ‘shut it’.

Yes, Commons has played at a level much higher than myself and weighs far less, but he’s way off the mark here.

James Forrest has been in tremendous form for the last eighteen months, and under Brendan Rodgers tenure in general, has been largely consistent.

He is comfortably better than most wingers down in ‘the prem’ and would walk into at least fifteen clubs down there with how his game has came on leaps and bounds. Forrest has became one of the most exciting players to watch in Scotland and that’s all down to his explosive style of play, backed up by the fact he has added a cutting edge to his game, as displayed with his recent ruthless finishing for club and indeed country.

Hopefully though, he doesn’t have any ambitions to leave Celtic, and enjoys his peak years at us, instead of wasting them at some no mark mob like Watford or Brighton.
