I can be quite critical of Celtic on here, I’m the first to admit that, but after thrashing Hearts and beating Leipzig, a goalless draw at the Anthony Macaroni Arena yesterday was probably a fair result and considering the effort put into Thursday’s game, it would be extremely harsh to shout and bawl about dropping two points, as we’re still back at the top of the league.
Yesterday’s match was a completely different one to the Europa League clash with Leipzig, which was a frantic, fast paced and open affair. Not a lot of teams will beat Livingston at their place, and they defended extremely well considering their miniscule resources in comparison to ourselves.
What I found interesting was that for all the whining about their pitch, Celtic’s football was fine, and we passed the ball about with no problem. Had we won, the pitch would never even have been mentioned, but it was certainly a game that Moussa Dembele would have been crucial for, because as good as Edouard is, we do lack a striker who can make his presence felt and bully defenders at times, but again, sometimes you just have to credit the opposition and Livingston’s defenders stuck to their task well against our attacking threat.
It’s now time for the international break, the last of the year thankfully, and then we face Hamilton on the 24th on yet another artificial pitch. An easy game back, let’s not kid ourselves.
SITE NEWS: With me doing the site myself and struggling to mix ‘a real joab’ , weans and bevvy into some sort of a natural lifestyle to do this everyday, someone else should be on board this week to help get the blog more regular.
There will be a big over the top announcement soon.
