Thanks for opening the link.
Of course, I am not going to subject the readers to a ‘Here’s the lowdown on the German hotshots’ or a ‘what we need to know’ regarding Thursday’s opponents RB Leipzig, we all follow fitba, we know they’re a German team who had a financial advantage when the war was over............and the Red Bulls had won plus more importantly that they’re no mugs and even beat Rangers in a glamour European one off match in January 2017.
Leipzig lie fifth in the Bundesliga at the moment, five points behind leaders Dortmund, and haven’t lost a game since the middle of September when Salzburg beat them 3-2 in the Red Bull derby, which I’ll give the name El Wingico for now. Good patter winnit.
Their dangerman ? Clearly Timo Werner. He had a nightmare in the world cup in Russia, but so did guys like Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng and Thomas Mueller. Are they duds ? Definitely not! Werner is capable of causing better defences than ours problems. Danish forward Yussuf Poulsen will also be a handful. Slovenian midfielder Kevin Kampl has played against Celtic before for Salzburg, and he’ll be a key player for Leipzig.
This mob were founded in 2009, so hopefully we are consistent with the ‘new club’ patter we throw at Rangers on a daily basis and noise them up.
Focus will be on Celtic tomorrow afternoon and how I think Brendan Rodgers will HAVE to get this one right to avoid the nonsense of a display against Salzburg in the last group stage game.
What did you expect ? A comprehensive write up ?
I don’t patronise the readers.
