Celtic smash Hibs and prepare for Leipzig.

Are we back to our best ?

Well, in an ever flip flopping season, so far we are, but that opinion could change on Thursday evening after the Leipzig game.

An accurate result on Saturday would have been 10-3. Celtic created heaps of chances and were in excellent form against a team who generally can’t defend well, granted, but are no mugs and we made them look rather hopeless.

The football was extremely pleasing to watch, and Brendan Rodgers himself has said the team have started to find their feet again after a frustrating start to the season, which was however massively exaggerated by many fans never mind the idiots in the media.

Tom Rogic, a player who I have criticised for turning up in bread and butter Premiership games but going missing in any European match, does look to be in excellent form again with a great goal at the weekend and a cracking weighted assist for Ntcham’s strike, and if he can do the business against Leipzig then I’ll happily eat, and enjoy, humble pie with him.

It’s important not to get fully carried away with the last two wins though, as a major improvement is needed on Thursday after a very disappointing collapse against Salzburg a few weeks ago.

The opening twenty minutes are vital, and as we’ve seen with Celtic in Europe recently, even taking the lead early on is hardly an advantage when we shoot ourselves in the foot on a regular basis.

Benkovic has came onto a game and looks the real deal, and I know it’s another loan signing but if he can help us progress into the knockout stages, short sighted as it may be, then job done at least.

There will be a proper build up to the Leipzig game on the site before Thursday.
