THE BIG STORY: Leigh Griffiths, who scored twice in yesterday’s 4-1 win over Hearts, has revealed that his aim for this season is to get to 100 goals scored for Celtic. He is currently 13 goals away from the target, so chances are good that he reaches the total before Christmas.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s man of the match Callum McGregor was ‘delighted’ with both his, and Celtic’s start to the season.
NOTE: We’ve already written about Jon Daly’s SPAT with Brendan Rodgers after the game, perhaps we’ll hear about it in tomorrow’s press conference before the Kilmarnock game on Tuesday night or that will be the end of the matter.
ON THIS DAY: In 2005, Shunsuke Nakamura made his Celtic debut and turned in a man of the match performance in a 2-0 win over Dundee United at Celtic Park, the first goal coming from John Hartson, and the second a spectacular volley by Craig Beattie.
