THE BIG STORY: In the wake of yesterday’s 1-1 draw with St Johnstone, Brendan Rodgers has asked the Celtic fans to show a bit more ‘patience’, as the fans seemed to get on the player’s backs as Celtic struggled to get an equaliser. Rodgers also explained that the fans will have to accept that Celtic will make mistakes this season. Fair enough I suppose, but at Celtic you need to win every game or it’s a crisis to some extent - as the manager knows - so there will always be murmurs when Celtic don’t immediately start hammering a side.
OTHER NEWS: With the transfer window closing on Thursday night, I would expect Celtic to be active in the market, especially now that Rivaldo Coetzee’s transfer has fallen through. We really need to try and get a centre-half, striker and Patrick Roberts in this week. It remains to be seen if that happens but the money is available, go out there and spend it Celtic. We don’t want anymore cases of ‘we tried’.
