THE BIG STORY: Celtic face Rosenborg in Trondheim tonight in the second leg of our Champions League third qualifier, with the tie in the balance after a goalless draw at Celtic Park. Despite the high stakes involved in the game, Brendan Rodgers is looking forward to it. Glad that somebody is. Scott Sinclair is also positive about the game, which is good to hear. The good news regarding team selection is that Leigh Griffiths - who was verbally abused at Glasgow Airport yesterday by someone who supported a team that liquidated - is fit to play a part in the game, but it seems unlikely that he will start, indeed Brendan Rodgers has admitted he is unsure how big a part Griffiths will play. You can read our preview of the game here, and we’ll be covering the game on our Twitter account and will deal with the fall-out of the game on the site tomorrow.
ON THIS DAY: In 2001, Celtic signed John Hartson from Coventry City for £6 million. Big John had a highly successful spell at Celtic, scoring over 100 goals and winning numerous trophies. The league clinching goal against Hearts, numerous winners against Rangers and several important goals on the Road to Seville in 2003 amongst the highlights of his time at the club.
