THE BIG STORY: Whilst we wait and see if Celtic will add any players to the squad ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League signing deadline Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that he believes that Stuart Armstrong ‘genuinely wants to be’ at Celtic, while admitting that the contract stalemate has affected his form, which was certainly the case when he came on as a sub against Partick Thistle on Friday night, he didn’t play well at all.

Rodgers also admitted that he wouldn’t be surprised if Kieran Tierney is subjected to big money bids this month, but is confident that the player would reject these to continue his development at Celtic.

ON THIS DAY: In 2003, Celtic defeated MTK Hungaria in Budapest 4-0 to all but guarantee our qualification for the Champions League. Henrik Larsson created a new British record with his 31st goal in European competition for one club, with the other goals coming from Didier Agathe, Stan Petrov and Chris Sutton.
