THE BIG STORY: Brendan Rodgers spoke to the press after last night’s 1-0 win over Partick Thistle, and he said that Stuart Armstrong’s contract situation needs to be cleared up one way or another as it is beginning to affect his confidence.
"It needs to be resolved one way or the other."

Rodgers also spoke about signings, he will be ‘taking a look’ at bringing in a new striker and revealed that Celtic are working on bringing in a player before the Astana game deadline, presumably that would be Patrick Roberts, but the Daily Record have this morning linked us with 20 year old South African centre-back Rivaldo Coetzee, who plays for Ajax Cape Town. As for the game itself, Rodgers was happy enough with the result.
OTHER NEWS: Goalscorer Olivier Ntcham also spoke to the media after last night’s game, he feels that he is getting ‘better and better’ in his performances for Celtic, and he is looking forward to the Astana game next week.
ON THIS DAY: In 2006, Celtic defeated St Mirren 2-0 at Celtic Park, in what was Stan Petrov’s last game for the club before he moved to Aston Villa, and Stan marked the game with a trademark goal after Stephen McManus had given Celtic the lead.
