THE BIG STORY: Scott Brown, in his testimonial year, has revealed that he plans to sign a new contract with Celtic and continue to play for Scotland as well. Brown stated that he wants to play on for as many as years as possible. Sounds good to me, apart from the Scotland part, he should retire from international duty again in my opinion.
OTHER NEWS: Southampton are apparently 'weighing up' a £10 million move for Stuart Armstrong. If he doesn't intend to sign a new contract with Celtic then I could see this move happening, £10 million is big money for a player in the last year of his contract. Naturally I hope that he stays...but I'm beginning to doubt that he will.
Celtic's pre-season tour of Austria finishes later today with a game against Slavia Prague, kick off 5PM, we'll keep you updated on our twitter account and have a match report up after the game.
Tonight we will also find out if our much-mooted trip to Belfast will take place, as the second leg of Linfield-La Fiorita is played. Good luck to the team from San Marino.
ON THIS DAY: In 1983, Davie Hay was appointed Celtic manager, Hay only won two trophies in his four seasons at Celtic Park, but what memorable occasions they were. Firstly, the come from behind 2-1 victory over Dundee United in the 1985 Scottish Cup Final
and secondly the legendary 5-0 win at Love Street in 1986 which clinched the most unlikeliest of league championships.
