THE BIG STORY: We’re still in July and already this is looking like a pivotal week of the season, as Celtic travel to Trondheim on Wednesday to face Rosenborg with our Champions League future on the line and the campaign for seven in a row begins on Saturday at home to Hearts.

Thankfully the players seem confident ahead of Wednesday night, with Craig Gordon stating the players have ‘the big match experience’ to cope with the game. Jonny Hayes is also confident, claiming that Celtic ‘have the bottle’ to get a result in Trondheim. Let’s hope that is the case.

OTHER NEWS: Shaun Maloney could make a surprise return to Celtic Park to coach Celtic’s under 20s side, according to the Daily Mail. Maloney, who was recently in talks with Aberdeen, is said to be ‘interested’ in the job. We’ll keep you updated on this story.

ON THIS DAY: In 2013, a Kris Commons goal gave Celtic a 1-0 lead over Elfsborg in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round.
