THE BIG STORY: After seven years at the club, Emilio Izaguirre has left Celtic to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Fahya. Izzy, who quickly became a fans’ favourite after a brilliant first season in which he won every award going, left a message on Instagram to the players and staff at Celtic and also praised the currently banned Green Brigade. You can see Izzy’s emotional goodbye here, and we wish him the very best of luck at Al-Fahya and look forward to his eventual return to Celtic Park.

OTHER NEWS: Brendan Rodgers will hold a media conference at Celtic Park today ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Rosenborg, and amidst as yet unsubstantiated rumours that both Moussa Dembele and Erik Sviatchenko are set to miss the game through injury. We’ll keep you updated on what the manager says. Talking on Dembele, he has once again been linked with a move to Marseille, with Sky Sports claiming that talks have taken place between Marseille and Celtic with a fee of £20 million involved. GIGPOD is back in town, and the latest episode features an interview with former Celt and current Chesterfield manager, Gary ‘Heid’ Caldwell. It is an entertaining interview and you can listen here.

ON THIS DAY: In 2005 Celtic signed Japanese midfielder/genius Shunsuke Nakamura for £2.5 million from Reggina. Below is a compilation of all the great man’s goals for Celtic.
