THE BIG STORY: Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: things are going great at Celtic then all of a sudden we manage to involve ourselves in some drama that puts a dampener on things to some extent. Lo and behold, when we should all be focusing on Wednesday’s game with Rosenborg instead the club’s closure of the Green Brigade section for two matches is the main story...and yes, I’ll be writing about the situation in greater detail later on. Ironically enough, the Green Brigade news broke on the same day that Celtic announced that all standard season tickets had sold out. We need some outlandish transfer rumours to distract us from this off-field business *checks newspapers* there aren’t any.

ON THIS DAY: In 2015 - yes, just two years ago - Celtic defeated Stjarnan 4-1 in Iceland to go through 6-1 on aggregate in the second round of Champions League qualification. After the Icelandic side took an early lead Nir Bitton levelled the scoring before goals from Mulgrew, Griffiths and Johansen in the second half killed the game off. Qarabag would await in the next round.
