THE BIG STORY: There have been rumblings for a while that Celtic are interested in signing Hibs midfielder John McGinn, now the story has taken a twist, with the Daily Express reporting that Ipswich are set to bid for the player again after initially having a bid of £1.2 million rejected, and Celtic have 'to decide' if to go in for the player. The Express also claims that Liam Henderson could be part of the deal.

McGinn certainly seems like a decent player and one we should perhaps consider for the future, but right now as we have so many midfielders it doesn't make any sense for Celtic to sign him. I would put this rumour down to 'paper talk' more than anything.

OTHER NEWS: Yesterday we reported on Emilio Izaguirre's desire to sign a new long term contract with Celtic, and ex Celt Tosh McKinlay thinks that would be a good bit of business by the club.

Last week we mentioned that Celtic were allegedly interested in signing Red Star Belgrade winger Srdjan Plasvic, it now seems that he is joining Slavia Prague.
