THE BIG STORY: With news that Celtic have agreed a fee with Aberdeen it seems inevitable that Jonny Hayes will become Celtic's first signing of the summer. The player, who was the only non-Celt nominated for player of the year, scored 11 goals last season and more importantly had 24 assists, which is more than either Patrick Roberts or James Forrest had.
I would imagine that Hayes will be a first choice in the team, he has the ability to play on both wings and spending only £1.3 million on a player with double figures in both goals and assists seems like a very good deal to me. I've seen some grumblings about the move online, but Brendan Rodgers has worked with the player before and has also seen close-up how valuable a player Hayes can be, as he scored twice against Celtic last month. We wish him well in his up-coming career at Celtic Park.
OTHER NEWS: Fraser Forster has encouraged the likes of Moussa Dembele to stay at Celtic for a good while yet as it is 'such a special place'. Naturally we endorse Fraser's comments.
As we reported yesterday, Scott Allan has joined Dundee on a season long loan. Will he ever play for Celtic again? Nope.
Despite Swiss defender Reto Ziegler claiming that Celtic wanted to sign him, the Sun have reported that Celtic aren't interested in the payer.
