THE BIG STORY: Celtic won every major award at last night's PFA Scotland Player of the Year awards. Moussa Dembele won goal of the year for this goal against St Johnstone,
for the second year in a row Kieran Tierney won young player of the year, Scott Sinclair capped off his first season at Celtic with player of the year and Brendan Rodgers was awarded manager of the year. Rodgers was delighted with the award, then spoke of his intention to have 'more competition' in the Celtic squad next season.
Well done to the players and manager on the awards, fully deserved for the way they have turned Celtic's fortunes around in the last year.
ON THIS DAY: In 2004, Celtic defeated Rangers 1-0 at Celtic Park to complete a 'green and whitewash’ in the league fixtures between the clubs, the only team (thus far) that Celtic have won all four league games in a season against our once rivals. As the game was drifting to a goalless draw in injury time, Chris Sutton got the ball outside the penalty box, held off a challenge and flighted home a superb winner. See the goal below.
