Wednesday Round-Up: Dembele Won't Risk His Fitness, Sinclair Speaks His Mind

THE BIG STORY: With Celtic players dominating the player of the year nominations, some of the players nominated spoke to the press yesterday, with Moussa Dembele revealing that he will only be involved in the Scottish Cup Final if he is '100% fit', and that being fit for the Champions League qualifiers is arguably more important. I can't argue with Moussa's rationale, if he broke down injured in the cup final and missed the qualifiers it would be disastrous for the club.

Meanwhile, Scott Sinclair has spoken of his 'disgust' at the racial abuse he received at Ibrox on Saturday. However, he is enjoying life at Celtic despite this incident and has no plans to leave the club.

SITE NEWS: In a great treat for all @GIGPOD listeners, I recorded a mini episode talking about the 5-1, the player of the year awards and this weekend's St Johnstone game. It should be out later today.

ON THIS DAY: In 2008, Celtic came from behind to defeat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park and gain a vital three points. After a goalless first half, Chris Porter headed Motherwell into the lead on the hour, before a Scott McDonald header levelled the game just two minutes later. Sub Georgios Samaras stooped to head in the winner in the 79th minute and Celtic survived a tense last few minutes to stay top of the league.
