SATURDAY ROUND-UP: MORE STUFF ABOUT REFEREES AND THE SEMI-FINAL

THE BIG STORY: Brendan Rodgers held a pre semi-final press conference yesterday, and we wrote about what he said here. The main takeaways being that Scott Brown shouldn't have been sent-off against Ross County last week, Don Robertson hasn't spoke to Brendan Rodgers since last week but referees' chief John Fleming has, and that Robertson should apologise to Erik Sviatchenko for awarding that dubious penalty last week. Onto the game itself, no new injury concerns for Celtic that we know of but apparently Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham is out with an undisclosed injury. Hmmm...dunno if I believe that story. Callum McGregor, who missed a penalty in last year's semi-final, has said that he would take a penalty if a shoot out is required this year. Let's hope, for the sake of our nerves, that it's not.

SITE NEWS: The 'semi stories' series ended yesterday with our legendary 2-1 win over Hearts in 1988, whilst GIGPOD supremo onlylovehh wrote about the traumas of 2012's semi-final against Hearts. Later today we'll have our EPIC semi-final match preview up.

OTHER NEWS: One of the stars of Celtic's City of Glasgow Cup victory, Ewan Henderson, hopes that he can emulate his big brother Liam and become a part of the Celtic first team squad. He certainly looks a like a player with good potential.

ON THIS DAY: In 2001, Celtic were presented with the league trophy after 1-0 victory over Hearts, the only goal coming from Lubomir Moravcik. In a game played in dreadful conditions, the weather couldn't dampen the spirit of the fans who celebrated in style.
