THE BIG STORY: According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Celtic are interesting in signing Sunderland's Fabio Borini, who would reunite with both Brendan Rodgers and Celtic head of recruitment Lee Congerton. Time will tell if this is just kiteflying but he seems to fit the criteria of the type of signing that Rodgers wants to make.

OTHER NEWS: The reason for the slightly earlier blog today is that in one hour's time the post-split SPFL fixtures will be announced. We will of course have details of the fixtures as soon as they become available.

Our old friend Willie Collum has been appointed referee for next week's Scottish Cup semi-final.

Chris Davies is hopeful for even more improvement from Celtic next season.

ON THIS DAY: In 2008, Celtic began the run which would clinch three in a row with a 4-1 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park. Celtic, who had lost to Motherwell at Celtic Park only eight days previously were in determined mood and took the lead with a Stephen McManus header. After McManus then deflected in a shot to make it 1-1, quick strikes from JVoH and Scott McDonald made it 3-1 at half-time, with JVoH making it 4-1 early in the second half. Goals are below.
