Only one news story this morning, but it's a big one:
- In a marvellous piece of news, Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Celtic don't need to sell any of our 'big' players and that we will make signings before the season defining Champions League qualifiers, and we are willing to spend big money. If this is true then this is the type of forward planning that fans have been crying out for for years, and following in the footsteps of Rodgers' new four year contract is another piece of great news for the fans.
- In other news, GIGPOD will have former Celtic goalie Jonathan Gould as the guest on the podcast this Friday, to mark this event we'll have a blog up later this week looking back on Gould's time at Celtic.
- ON THIS DAY: In 2004, Celtic defeated Livingston 3-1 at Hampden Park to reach the Scottish Cup Final. Chris Sutton gave Celtic the lead, before Henrik Larsson took advantage of a defensive mix-up to make it 2-0. Sutton got his second and Celtic's third before McMenamin's late consolation goal.
