Tuesday Round-Up

Another quiet day but on this day saves the day!

Harald playing against Kille

It's Tuesday, four days until the next Celtic game, yay! Thank goodness as things are really quiet at the club right now, we aren't in crisis, we aren't in Europe etc. But anyway, I have endeavoured to find some news stories for our beloved readers:

  • SFA Performance Director Malky Mackay is going to speak to Brendan Rodgers in a bid to find out why Scottish fitba' is in CRISIS.
  • That's it, as I said things are really quiet right now...but thankfully ON THIS DAY is here to save the day!
  • ON THIS DAY 4 GOAL SPECTACULAR: A special on this day today, featuring not one but TWO memorable games which both feature Celtic players scoring four goals in a game.

Firstly, in 1998 Harald Brattbakk (a former GIGPOD guest, lest we forget) scored all of Celtic's goals in a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock at Celtic Park. Bizarrely enough, Harald really should have scored six goals as he hit the post twice. The win put us in second locked in points with both Kilmarnock and Rangers on 52 points, yes, a three team title race did actually happen in Scotland.

Then, a year later in 1999 Henrik Larsson scored four as Celtic ran riot against Motherwell, winning 7-1 at Fir Park, the other goals scored by Moravcik, Burley and Burchill. The victory cut the gap to Rangers at the top of the league to six points, as Celtic tried to recover from a poor start to the season.
