Celtic’s injury problems at central defence look to have struck again, with reports suggesting Jozo Simunovic has suffered a hamstring tear and will be out for around ‘6 to 8 weeks’, meaning he will miss both of Celtic’s Champions League games against Bayern Munich and possibly our trip to Paris Saint Germain.

This is a real blow as Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata has just resurrected their central defensive partnership and turned in great performances against Rangers and Anderlecht.

With Erik Sviatchenko just recovered from injury it seems that he will come out of the cold to replace Simunovic, or perhaps Brendan Rodgers will play Kristoffer Ajer or Nir Bitton but no matter who comes in, Jozo will be missed.
