THE BIG STORY: Brendan Rodgers has urged Celtic to ‘impose ourselves’ in tonight’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich in Germany. He also hopes that Celtic are aggressive in attack tonight. That’s easier said than done, particularly with Jozo Simunovic ruled out of tonight’s game, and the Celtic manager is sure that Celtic can ‘cope’ without the big defender. Scott Sinclair is certainly echoing the managers comments, as he believes that Celtic will take a ‘positive attitude’ into the game.
Onto the German champions, and interestingly former Bayern midfielder Owen Hargreaves has said that Bayern’s stand-in goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is a weak link that Celtic can look to exploit, whilst Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes won’t ‘underestimate Celtic’ as we are ‘powerful and aggressive.’
Unsurprisingly we’ve been covering the game in some detail, with a match preview here, a ‘Letter From America’ on the game here and the Bayern Munich fans view on the game here. We’ll have updates on our Twitter account and a match report up after the game, and as your correspondent is going to miss the game our man onlylovehh will be taking over.
OTHER NEWS: Before tonight’s game listen to the latest episode of @GIGPOD, which features a preview of the Bayern game and a look forward to the forthcoming Hibs and Aberdeen games. Listen to the episode here.
